(Stipulated in Article 28 - Charter of Vietnam Trade Union 2014)
a. Represent and protect the legal and legitimate rights and interests of union members and employees of Vietnam Engine and Agricultural Machinery Corporation.
b. Propagating the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws, and the tasks of the Trade Union organization.
c. Research and participate in state management of the Corporation's socio-economic affairs and participate in developing regimes and policies:
- Research and participate with Party committees, authorities, unions and propose to higher-level trade unions on the general socio-economic development strategy and that of the Corporation, associated with the building, training and fostering of the staff in VEAM Corporation.
- Research and participate in the development of laws, regimes and policies on labor, wages, labor protection, social insurance, health insurance and other regimes and policies for employees at the Corporation, participate in administrative reform, anti-corruption, negativity and anti-waste.
- Represent union members and employees to negotiate and sign collective labor agreements with organizations representing employers in the entire Corporation.
- Inspect and monitor the implementation of policies and regimes; participate in the Corporation's councils to resolve issues related to employees; recommend to state agencies to supplement, amend and resolve policies and regimes of industries and occupations to meet the requirements of industry and occupation development and the interests of employees.
- Coordinate with other professional management agencies and organizations to guide and organize patriotic emulation forms suitable to the unit's conditions.
d. Research and propose to the superior trade union on the organizational system, organizational model, specify the functions and tasks of each level in the trade union system of the Corporation; guide and direct the congresses of the lower-level trade unions; carry out planning, management, training, fostering of cadres and implement cadre policies according to the regulations of the trade union organization, develop union members and build a strong trade union organization, decide to establish or dissolve affiliated grassroots trade unions.
e. Instructions for directing the General Corporation's trade union office and affiliated grassroots trade unions:
- Research and concretize the implementation of directives and resolutions of the superior trade union and the Standing Committee, Executive Committee of the Corporation's trade union, and resolutions of trade union congresses at all levels.
- Directing the implementation of democratic regulations at the grassroots level, organizing forms of participation in management and protecting the interests of workers according to the provisions of law; organizing workers' conferences; building, negotiating and signing collective labor agreements; dialogue at the workplace
- Propaganda and education of employees to improve professional qualifications, information on laws, policies, obligations and rights of union members and employees in the Corporation. Organize patriotic emulation movements, build harmonious, stable and progressive labor relations in the Enterprise.
- Manage the finance, assets and economic activities of the union according to the regulations of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.
- Organize and maintain annual FDI trade union seminars under the Corporation's trade union to improve the operational capacity of grassroots trade union organizations.
- Carry out social responsibilities, social funds and humanitarian charity work, care for and educate children, encourage learning, support flood victims and build charity houses...
f. Actively coordinate with provincial and municipal labor federations to direct and guide local industry unions in implementing the following contents: Industry labor policies and regimes; propaganda and education on industry traditions; industry development directions and tasks; establishment of unions in non-state economic units in the same industry; participation in the establishment or dissolution of local industry unions (if any).
g. Actively coordinate with local labor federations, implement the coordination regulations signed between the Industry and Trade Union and local labor federations to guide grassroots unions in corporations located in provinces and cities.
h. Conduct foreign relations according to the regulations of the trade union organization.
